This book presents a discussion of the fundamentals and techniques of the covert observation of people, vehicles, and premises. It provides a comprehensive source of information that is otherwise available only through a wide variety of related and unrelated sources. Additionally some sections of the text provide information usually available only to government agents attending specialized in-service schools. In this new second addition, all chapters have been thouroughly updated and new ones have been added. These include "surveillance Applications," which provides examples illustrating when, why, and how various surveillance techniques and methods are applied for different types of investigation and under different circumstances, and "tips for the Surveillant," a new listing of the many concepts and important points discussed throughout the book that are presented as a reinforcement tool to help the appprentice investigator develop a useful way of thinking.
