A study of the life, work and outlook of Aodh Buí Mac Cruitín (c.1680-1755), one of the most prolific Irish-language poets of the 18th century. Mac Cruitín (known as Hugh Mac Curtin in English) was also the author of two books: A Brief Discourse in Vindication of the Antiquity of Ireland (Dublin, 1717), and The Elements of the Irish Language Grammatically Explained in English (Louvain, 1728).
