This is the loose autobiography of Jack Douglas a comedy writer for Bob Hope and many others. Douglas gained new fame in the 1950s when he became a frequent guest on the Jack Paar show. Douglas discusses his brief career as a prize fighter, but focuses on his career in comedy. It is biography by way of short humorous chapters. I found it enjoyable even though I have never seen his Paar appearances and had no specific interest in Douglas's life.
References Hal Gurnee, who started with Paar and later ended up at the Letterman show for many years.
