Rosetta Stone in the British Museum
THE famous, irregularly-shaped slab of black basalt in the BRITISH MUSEUM (Southern Egyptian Gallery, No. 24), which is now universally known as the " ROSETTA STONE," was discovered at a spot which lies a few miles to the north of the little town of RASHID which Europeans generally call "ROSETTA."
