Potassic igneous rocks occur in many different tectonic settings (e.g. Rock 1991; Foley and Peccerillo 1992), and include a variety of compositions ranging from shoshonites associated with calc-alkaline volcanic rocks to ultrapotassic leucitites (Foley and Peccerillo 1992; Peccerillo 1992).
