THE battle of Mejdelmoosh placed the government of the Lebanon in the hands of the Emir Alamadeen and the Emir Asaff Safa, who proceeded to render themselves acceptable in the eyes of the Pasha, by doubling the miri, and exercising the severest exactions to enforce its payment.
