The volume was J. G. Eichhorn's Commentarius in Apocalypsin Joannis (Gottingen, 1791), Commentary on the Apocalypse of John, and Coleridge, as was his habit, had in fact blacked the margins of another copy of the work (bound together with the second volume) with comments for which Coleridge's friends would gladly pay in blood-drops.
