Elizabeth Thomasina Meade Smith. L. T. Meade was the pseudonym of Elizabeth Thomasina Meade Smith (1844–1914), a prolific Irish writer. She has more than 300 books to her credit, including numerous mystery novels and stories. Her *Sorceress of the Strand stories*, co-written with her frequent collaborator <a href=https://openlibrary.org/authors/OL2676215A/Robert_Eustace/>Robert Eustace</a> (the pen-name of Dr. Eustace Robert Barton, 1854-1943), feature a memorable female villain, Madame Sara. L. T.
